This car came to us by a previous customer and collector of Tri-Fives" who we sold a 57 Bel Air too 15 years ago. We have stayed in contact all these years as we like to do with all our customers because you never know what someone’s wants and needs may be in the future. Anyway, he contacted us a few weeks ago about him wanting to sell some of his collection and i didn’t hesitate one minute to go take a look and try to strike some sort of deal and this beautiful 1955 Bel Air Convertible Resto-Mod is the result!! This car was originally built in 2010 and still looks like it was done yesterday! It has won multiple awards, and car shows and has been featured in Car Craft magazine. It was professionally rotisserie restored and built with no money spared and with the ultimate goal of having an awesome running and driving dependable show-car, and in our opinion, they absolutely NAILED IT!
The body is as straight as i have ever seen! It is super solid and incredibly clean with perfect gaps and fitment, and the underside of this car is simply amazing! The floors were smoothed and painted and wet-sanded base/clear color coded to match the outside of the car, and the frame was modified, smoothed and powdered coated gloss black. It was professionally painted "Porche Red" in base/clear and is super slick and smooth with a deep luster and a brilliant show car shine! We just compounded and polished it and added a 1-year ceramic coating to protect the shine too! It also has a beautiful tan "Hartz" cloth power convertible top with a clear zip-out rear window and a matching convertible top boot as well! All the chrome and trim were redone new, and it has all new tinted glass as well as new weather stripping too.
The interior is simply a work of art! The original bench seats were custom hand-made and covered in light tan glove leather with a suede insert in the backrest. It also has matching door panels and custom fitted carpets through-out! The dash is painted key-color to the car with new "Billet" inserts and a fully functional classic "Vintage" gauge cluster and a chrome IDIDIT tilt steering column too. The trunk was also fully finished in matching carpet and side panels. It is all VERY-VERY NICE!!
This beautiful car is powered by a new crate 454 c.i. - 425 h.p. big block engine that runs strong and sounds awesome! It was recently updated with a new "FAST" fuel injection system for more responsiveness, smooth start-ups and better fuel economy. It is also highly detailed with lots of show-chrome and polished Billet aluminum too!! All this is backed up by a crisp shifting TH-400 automatic transmission with "Lokar" shifter and a posi-traction rear with a 3:08 gears.
Other amazing features include cold "Vintage" air conditioning, quick ratio power steering, a new and updated "CPP" front end kit that includes tubular upper and lower control arms, "Viking" adjustable coil-over front shocks and a big front sway bar. It also has 4-wheel "CPP" power disc brakes and new "Viking" double adjustable rear shocks too! Ceramic coated headers flow into an aggressive sounding "Flow Master" dual exhaust system. It rests on new 20"rear and 18" front chrome "606 Riddler" wheels with all new tires, and it has a CD stereo system and so much more!!!
This 1955 Bel Air Convertible Resto-Mod is simply gorgeous and was incredibly well built. It has been meticulously kept and maintained and now updated to make it even more fun to drive.
